On Friday July 21st at approximately 9:00am, officers of the Owen Sound Police Service were called after a man was stabbed in the area of 10th Street East and 3rd Avenue East. 

(OWEN SOUND, ON) – The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch are seeking any available video surveillance footage in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person in connection with a homicide in the City of Owen Sound.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising that, as a result of the post-mortem examination, the sudden death has been deemed a homicide.

On July 2nd 2023, just after 10:00am members of the Owen Sound Police Service as well as Grey County Paramedic Services and Owen Sound Fire & Emergency Services attended a westside residence in relation to a 9-1-1 call. 

The Canada Day Long Weekend is soon upon us, which for many is a great opportunity to relax and spend time with friends and family.  Unfortunately, the combination of alcohol, drugs and long weekend excitement can lead to some dangerous situations which we should all hope to avoid to ensure everyone’s safety.

For most Owen Sound students summer holidays start Friday with the last day of school being tomorrow.  Kids will be excited and may not be thinking about their personal safety so drivers need to be extra cautious in looking for child pedestrians during the summer months.
