POLICE RECOVER STOLEN ELECTRIC BIKE
On Saturday May 13, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. a patrolling Owen Sound Police Officer observed a man riding an electric bike on the west side of the city. The officer recognized the bike as having been recently reported as stolen from a local business.
The officer was able to recover the electric bike, which was still in perfect condition, after he stopped and arrested the man. The electric bike, which was valued at nearly $2,000, was later returned by police to the business.
A 42-year-old Owen Sound man was charged with Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach of a Probation Order. He has been prohibited from returning to the business and is scheduled to appear in criminal court to answer to the charges in June.
