Part Time Experienced Police Constable

The Owen Sound Police Service is accepting applications for part time experienced police officers.  Applicants must have obtained a Basic Constable Training diploma from the Ontario Police College (OPC) and be capable of performing all front-line uniform policing duties including call response, enforcement, and community policing initiatives.  Applicants must have served as an active police officer in the province of Ontario within the past three years to qualify.  This position is part time only, with no guaranteed hours.

Owen Sound is a small city located on the shores of Georgian Bay. The Owen Sound Police Service is seeking an energetic applicant who is committed to service excellence and improving the safety and quality of life for our residents and visitors.

In addition to possessing a diploma from OPC or its’ equivalent, applicants must:

• Have a valid Class G Driver’s licence with no more than 6 demerit points
• Have a valid Standard First Aid and CPR certificate by the time you are offered employment
• Be of good moral character and a person of honesty and integrity
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to articulate clearly both written and verbally
• Be a member in good standing with their current or past Police Service

Desirable attributes also include a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement, community involvement (eg: volunteering) and a history of strong work performance.
