    Arrests Made in Connection with Two Owen Sound Break and Enter Incidents

    The Owen Sound Police Service have arrested two Owen Sound residents following two break and enter incidents at the same west-end business that occurred less than a week apart.  The break-ins caused approximately $5,000 dollars in damage.

    Ongoing Investigation Leads to Arrest, Drug Seizure, and Criminal Charges

    On April 13, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on the city’s west side. The ongoing investigation led to an arrest, drug seizures, and criminal charges.

    Ongoing Investigation - Police presence at west-side residence

    On April 13, 2025, at approximately 4:00pm, the Owen Sound Police Service attended a west-side residence in response to a disturbance. Just prior to police arriving at the scene, a male fled the residence in a vehicle. As a result of the investigation at the residence, police sought the male who had fled. Police attempted to stop the male in the vehicle on more than one occasion however the male continued to flee and the pursuits were discontinued for public safety reasons. With the assistance of the OPP this male was taken into custody this morning just east of Owen Sound and turned over to the Owen Sound Police Service. This arrest is part of a larger on-going investigation. There remains a police presence at a west side apartment building as the investigation continues however there is no risk to public safety at this location. Further details will follow once this investigation is concluded.

    Job Posting: Cell Block Monitor

    The Owen Sound Police Service requires a Cell Block Monitor, who will be responsible for monitoring and safeguarding all persons in custody with the Owen Sound Police Service. When not monitoring prisoners, this position will also be responsible for Criminal Record Verifications utilizing the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and local Records Management Systems. This is a part-time position with varying hours up to thirty-six (36) per week, working both day and night shifts.
