Sexual assault is an unwanted act of a sexual nature done by one person to another that violates the sexual integrity of the victim and involves a range of behaviours from unwanted touching to penetration. Domestic Violence is the threat of or use of physical force done by one person to another when the persons are or have been in an intimate relationship. It may include a single act of violence or multiple acts forming a pattern of abuse through the use of assaultive and controlling behaviour.

Sexual Assault and Partner Abuse Care Centre

This service includes a team of nurses and social workers who are trained in providing emotional support, medical care and counselling for victims of recent sexual assault and survivors of partner abuse. A team of nurses is available 24-7 to provide emergency care.

Women’s House - Serving Bruce & Grey

Women’s House provides emergency shelter for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault.
