Two Motor Vehicle Collisions In Two Days Result In Two Impaired Drivers
Members of the Owen Sound Police Service were kept busy Friday and Saturday night responding to collisions resulting in impaired driving charges.
On March 7th, 2025, at approximately 10 PM, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 900 block of 10th Street East involving two motor vehicles. There were no reported injuries but both vehicles sustained significant damage.
The driver, a 64-year-old female from Orleans, Ontario, of one of the vehicles involved was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The female driver was transported to the Owen Sound Police Service where she provided breath samples that confirmed her blood alcohol concentration was over the legal limit.
As a result, the 64-year-old female driver had her driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and had her vehicle impounded for 7 days. The female driver was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the criminal charges in March.
On March 9th, 2025, at approximately 3:50 AM, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 900 block of 2nd Ave East involving a SUV and a City snowplow. No injuries were reported but the SUV sustained significant damage. The unlicenced driver of the SUV, a 43-year-old female from Owen Sound, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The female driver was transported to the Owen Sound Police Service where she provided breath samples that confirmed her blood alcohol concentration was over the legal limit.
Asa result, the 43-year-old-female driver was issued a 90-day licence suspension and had her vehicle impounded for 7 days. The female driver was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the criminal and provincial charges in March.
