Owen Sound Police Service Celebrates International Women’s Day
The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, recognizing the invaluable contributions of women in policing and our community.
Women have played a critical role in policing, bringing diverse perspectives and skills that strengthen our ability to serve and protect. At OSPS, we are proud to have an increasing number of women serving in sworn positions, as well as civilian roles, such as dispatchers, records clerks, special constables, directors and more. We are committed to fostering a culture where all women feel valued, respected, and empowered to have opportunities to grow in their careers.
Chief Craig Ambrose expressed gratitude for the dedication and professionalism of the women within OSPS: “Today, we honour the women who serve our community with integrity, resilience, and compassion. Their contributions make a meaningful impact, and we are proud to stand alongside them in creating a safer, more inclusive society.”
OSPS is also taking this opportunity to encourage women to consider a career in policing. Law enforcement is a dynamic and rewarding profession, and we are actively seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our team in various positions. View our Employment Opportunities webpage here.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, OSPS is pleased to offer an opportunity for females interested in a career in policing to connect with our female officers. If you have any career questions or would like to be connected with one of our female members for more information, please send an email to: hr@owensoundpolice.com.
