Owen Sound Man Arrested for Third Time in Three Days
On November 25, 2024 at approximately 11:00 p.m. an unlocked vehicle was entered in the area of Ryerson Park on the east side of Owen Sound. The owner’s credit cards were stolen and Owen Sound Police were contacted to investigate.
As part of their investigation, police attended a nearby convenience store and identified the man responsible for theft, who had just used the victim’s credit card to purchase goods. The man was arrested and transported to the Owen Sound Police Service. The accused is being held in police custody pending a bail court appearance.
The victim’s credit cards were returned to them.
This is the third time that the accused has been arrested and charged for property crimes committed in Owen Sound in the past three days. In addition to the charges from the previous two incidents, the accused is additionally charged with Theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime (four counts), Unauthorized use of a credit card (2 counts) and failure to comply with an undertaking (2 counts).
The Owen Sound Police Service would like to remind the public to always lock their vehicles and to store items of value of out sight.
