Arrest Made in Break and Enter to Cannabis Retail Store
On March 26, 2024 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a man used a rock to smash through the front bay window of a Cannabis Retail business in Owen Sound. The man entered the store and proceeded to steal property including I Pads. The man climbed back through the window and fled from the area.
Owen Sound Police investigated, and with the assistance of video surveillance footage from the business, were able to identify the suspect based on several recent arrests of the same individual for previous property crimes.
Just after 8:30 a.m. a patrolling officer located and arrested the suspect in the area of 16th Street and 16th Avenue East. The man proceeded to provide police with a fictitious identity. The man was searched and found in possession of two stolen IPad’s from Cannabis store.
The accused, 29-year-old James FARR, of no fixed address, was charged with Break, Enter and Commit Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Obstructing a Peace Officer. FARR was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
