Posted on July 31, 2021

On Sunday evening shortly after 6 pm, Owen Sound Police responded to the report of a disturbance at an east side residence. The initial information was that several males were involved in a physical altercation in a laneway of the residence. Information was received shortly thereafter that three of the males were brandishing knives. Police responded to the area, however, the parties involved fled upon being advised that police had been contacted. Police spoke with witnesses and were able to identify two of the three males involved. Shortly after 8 pm, one of the parties involved, a 28-year-old male of no fixed address, was located by police and placed under arrest. The male has since been released from police custody and will appear in court next month to answer to the charge of possession of weapons dangerous. The other two males involved have yet to be located by police. The two outstanding males will be facing numerous charges. There were no injuries from this incident reported to police. The incident remains under investigation.

Shortly after 8:30 pm, police received a call to attend Grey Bruce Regional Health Services after a female patient was transported there by EMS with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The patient advised hospital staff that she had been assaulted while walking along the east harbour wall. The male has been charged with aggravated assault and 3 counts of failing to comply with conditions of his probation orders. The male has been held in custody for a bail hearing later today.
