MAN FACES SEVERAL WEAPONS RELATED CHARGES AFTER DOWNTOWN DISTURBANCE

Owen Sound Police have arrested a 26 year old male after investigating a disturbance downtown overnight. Police received a call just after 1 AM from a citizen reporting a disturbance in the area of 3rd Ave East and 8th Street East. Police arrived on scene and a complainant identified the suspect who allegedly pointed a gun and a knife at him during a fight. The suspect was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a replica pistol and two knives. He was charged with numerous offences including assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, breach of a weapons prohibition order and failing to comply with bail conditions. The male was held for a bail hearing. There were no injuries reported during the incident.
