Home Depot Property Recovered During Search Warrant

On April 16th, 2022 the Owen Sound Police Service commenced a Fraud investigation that revealed a suspect used a stolen credit card to purchase approximately $10,000 worth of products from Home Depot.

The investigation led police to a commercial rental unit where the property had been delivered, and a search warrant was executed on April 29th, 2022.  During the search warrant police recovered the fraudulently purchased products and were able to return them to the Home Depot.

As a result of this investigation a 46-year-old Owen Sound female was arrested and is now facing the following criminal charges:

  1. Fraud over $5000
  2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  3. Un-authorized use of a Credit Card

The accused was later released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Owen Sound in May 2022.

The Owen Sound Police would like to extend their appreciation to their community partners at Home Depot who assisted the Criminal Investigation Branch with the return of the numerous oversized household products to the store.
