The Owen Sound Police Service has a requirement for a full-time IT Assistant. Under the direction of their supervisor, this position will be responsible for installation and ongoing support of network, server and communication systems as well as end-user devices.
To be considered for this positions the applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada; preferably have 2 or more years of experience in an IT role, possess a minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent (completion of a network/systems administration diploma is an asset); possess accurate and proficient computer and keyboarding skills; the ability to multi-task; be of good moral character and habits and have no criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted. They must also have excellent interpersonal and strong decision-making skills. A valid class “G” licence with no demerit points is required to complete tasks
Job tasks include proficiency and confidence in the following items but are not limited to:
-Windows Server 2019 Active Directory/File Share Systems with Windows 10 clients
-Maintaining asset control for IT items
-Management of Knowledge Base repository
-Support of mobile devices using a Mobile Device Management system
- Linux operating systems
-Administration of NG911 and administrative phone systems
-Installation and support of radio communication devices
-Coordination with external contractors and/or service providers
-Network installation and configuration including Cisco and Juniper devices using command line tools for switches, routers and firewalls
Successful candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check and skill testing.
Salary Range for this position is $69,447.79 - $87,810.26
