Owen Sound Police were kept busy on Friday night responding to 4 separate motor vehicle collisions.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a collision at the intersection of 14th Street West and 2nd Avenue West involving two motor vehicles. 3 people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Vehicle Recovered From Georgian Bay

In the early morning hours of 21JUL2022, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to the west harbour wall regarding a vehicle that had entered the waters of Georgian Bay.

Recovery efforts were commenced by the Owen Sound Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, Owen Sound Fire Department and Grey County EMS. The vehicle was recovered by the Ontario Provincial Police, Underwater Search and Rescue Team and a 38-year-old Owen Sound woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

MAN CHARGED WITH MISCHIEF AFTER DAMAGING ELECTION SIGNS

On May 30th just after 11:30 p.m.,  Owen Sound Police responded to the 900 block of 16th Street East in relation to a male damaging provincial campaign signs.  As a result of the investigation a 44-year-old Grey County resident was arrested and charged with three counts of Mischief Under $5000.00 in relation to damaging and removing several of the signs.

Vehicle Strikes Headstone at Greenwood Cemetery Impaired Driving Charges Laid

Shortly after 6:15 pm on Tuesday May 24, 2022 Owen Sound Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle that had lost control while driving through Greenwood Cemetery.  Upon arrival officers located a silver Nissan Altima stuck on top of a headstone with both front wheels off the ground.  Police identified and arrested the driver, a 25- year-old Owen Sound man, for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.  Officers also seized open containers of alcohol.    ...
